Efijenia C Mata

Our beloved mother, and grandmother, Efijenia Castillo Mata, passed away at her home in Greendale, Wisconsin peacefully on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025 of natural causes at the age of 82. Her hometown was Crystal City, Texas and she was born on September 21st 1942.

 Efijenia was the heart of our home and family. Efijenia was married for 64 years and is survived by her husband Jesus Valdez Mata (82). Efijenia is also survived by her daughters and sons, Bruno (Christine), Bertha R., Jesse ( Pamela J.), Elsa, Armandina, Rebecca Tello, Raquel, Victoria (Pamela W.), and Ernestina. She was preceded in death by her youngest son Juan M. Mata. Efijenia is survived by her grandchildren, Alicia J. May (Justin), Melissa J. Mata, Rebecca Tello Jr., Michael D. Jackson, Elizabeth A. Mata, Stacy E. White Piontek (Justin), Stardaia M. Mata, Shane D. Mata (Erika R), Jade J. Mata, Elijah Mata, Emma R.A. Mata, Amy St. Peter ( David),and her great-grandchildren, Giovanni X. Mata, Nathan W. Mata, Jarrett K. Richardson, Isaiah J.R. Richardson, Jayden R.K. Richardson, Alivia R.A. Richardson, Myah J.R. Richardson, Malakai K. Richardson, Graysen D.G. Redinius, Mackenzie J.M. Tyloch, Josiah N. Mata, Amir Z. Mata, Avah C. Mata, Dennis O. Mata, Tyson W. Mata, Remington G. Mata, Owen A. Christensen, Enza A. Piontek, Oakley M. Piontek, Aiden St. Peter, and Autumn St. Peter. Efijenia, in all the beauty of this special tree, so too your love will forever be.

Efijenia was known to have a strong work ethic, she stood for truth, she was an independent woman, she was smart, she had a kind heart, and she was caring to family and friends. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed, but not forgotten.

 Family and friends are invited to say a final goodbye to Efijenia C. Mata at Witkowiak Funeral Home 529 W Historic Mitchell Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin  on Saturday, January 25th, 2025 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The family will have a private funeral.
