Frank Robert Louis, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25th, 2023 at Cedar Bay East Assisted Living in West Bend, Wisconsin.
Frank was born May 17th, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois, to Franciscus and Anna (Simonaurcia) Louis. Frank graduated from the University of Illinois – Urbana / Champaign with a degree in Art in Advertising in May, 1958. On June 8th 1958 he married Loretta Jean Tenfelde in Chicago. They had been next door neighbors. Frank was a devoted husband and father.
Frank and Loretta originally lived in Chicago. They then moved to Mokena, Illinois. In 1976 they moved to Glendale, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. In 2015, they made their final move to Independent Living at Cedar Ridge Community in West Bend, Wisconsin.
Frank was an extremely talented artist, working mostly in Advertising and Marketing. He started his career at Foote, Cone & Belding, an award winning global agency network in Chicago. Frank was on the creative team that created the Kohler brand slogan “The Bold Look of Kohler”. He also designed many of the Milwaukee Florentine Opera Ball publicity posters, winning more than one advertising award in the process. At the time of his retirement Frank was the Vice President of Creative Design at Bader Rutter, another significant advertising and branding agency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Frank was also a fierce competitor; he drove himself and excelled at many sports. He loved to play pool, golf, bowl and play tennis and basketball. Frank had a great sense of humor.
Frank & Loretta were dedicated church attenders and belonged to several Catholic Churches during their 65 year marriage.
Frank is survived by his wife Loretta, son Michael (Vicki) Louis, daughter Susan Inkmann, and 2 beautiful granddaughters, Elizabeth & Emily Inkmann. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, sons David (1960) and Daniel (2022). He is also survived by his sister Mary Ann Wyand, sister-in-law Gloria Tenfelde and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A private family Service will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 at the Memorial Garden at Cedar Ridge Community in West Bend, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cedar Ridge Community in Frank’s name.
The family wants to thank all those at Cedar Ridge Community that took such amazing care of Frank and made his last days so comfortable. The people working in this profession are truly angels on earth! The family Thanks You!
