Jose “Pasote” Gonzalez passed away from kidney disease on August 22, 2023 with his loving wife Maria Rodriguez by his side. He was born September 6, 1954 to father Gabriel Gonzalez and Mother Angela Zayas both predeceased. Jose “Pasote” leaves behind his wife Maria Rodriguez, four sisters Diana Quinones, Rosin Torres, Luz Hernandez and Evelyn Alicea, three living brothers David Gonzalez, Jose Cruz and David Cruz. Jose also had two predeceased brothers Angelo Gonzalez and Elliot Cruz. His survivors also include five sons, Jose (Estela), Heriberto (Jenny), Angel (Yahaira) Ricardo (Milly) and Raphael Martínez, including 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to many friends and relatives that all loved him tremendously. He was a pillar of Milwaukee’s Latin community and well known by all. A true hero of Latinos in the city. Jose “Pasote” made an impact on every person that knew him. He was a man who never turned anyone down in need. Always there with a plate of food and a smile for anyone who came into the business he ran and loved. His business was also known as the “People’s Inn” that he ran alongside his wife for many years. In this time we would like to celebrate this great man. He lived a good life and will be missed by many. Vistitaion will be held on Saturday, August 26th 2023 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Witkowiak Funeral Home (529 West Historic Mitchell Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53204).
