It is with deep sadness; that I regretfully announce that Stephen (Steve) Baldus passed away due to a sudden aggressive infection on 9/16/24. He battled cancer with everything that he had for nearly two years and continued his treatments until only several days before his death.
Through all of his pain and sickness he was still so thankful every single day. He had such great inner strength and determination, yet was so humble and loving. He fought so hard to live so he could continue to raise and nurture his children. Steve passed peacefully while being surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife Faith, his two beloved children Chloe and Ethan, his parents Cathy and Norb Baldus, his two brothers, Mike (Barbra) and Bill (Anna) and sister Johana. Steve has joined his grandmothers and grandfathers, his father in-law, and several pets including his dog Clyde into eternal life.
Steve graduated from Shorewood High School in 92. He played football all 4 years, and he made all state honorable mention in his senior year. He worked with his Uncle Ed installing theater chairs in a business founded by his grandfather Art Judge.
He loved camping with family in Florida and Wisconsin in his youth with his cousins and siblings. He continued this tradition with his wife and kids and continued to camp including the summer of his passing. Steve loved to fish and he caught his share of walleye pike at the family cottage in Eagle River WI. There he explored the rivers and woods with great imagination. He loved to bring his family there to share childhood memories and to create new memories with his kids.
Steve was very fond of his pets including his dog, cats, bird, and bug (<-well kind of). He enjoyed spending time at the dog park with his little dog Yumi. While visiting the dog park, Steve was also surrounded by a wonderful group of loving and supportive friends. I truly believe that these friends also gave him the strength that he needed to keep up the fight.
He loved playing video games and watching movies with his children. Steve also enjoyed riding his late father-in-law’s Harley Fatboy motorcycle. He affectionately named the bike, his wife’s “little sister”. Most of all, he loved his FAMILY, wife Faith and children Chloe & Ethan. He knew the joy of everyday life with them in their Oak Creek home.
